Monkey King the movie adapted from the classic Chinese novel titled Journey to the West, tells the story of Buddhist monks pilgrimage to India to collect religious texts. The story is one of the most famous stories from Chinese mythology and often adapted into television series and movies.
For that, Monkey King 3D the movie by local filmmakers have begun with the hope to equal the success of the film Avatar. Aaron Kwok, Hong Kong movie star, playing the King of Satan of Buffalo, while Chow Yun Fat plays the Emperor of Jade. Other Hong Kong stars like Donnie Yen, Kelly Chen, Gigi Leung, and Peter Ho, also will participate in the film playing Monkey King
Aaron Kwok said in a press conference on Sunday that he hopes his character will perform better in the movie Monkey King 3D compared to other films. "In a draft Action Donnie Yen, I hope the King of Devils beat Buffalo to Jade Emperor in a fight," said Aaron Kwok.
By creating a 3D effect that is needed for the film Monkey King, a film producer working with Hollywood's team, including David Ebner who participated designing the movie Alice in Wonderland and Spiderman 3, while Daniel Symmes appointed as a cinematographer.
The popularity of 3D movies is growing well. The film Avatar, a profit of 206 million U.S. dollars in Chinese cinema ticket sales earlier this year. Budget Monkey King 3D film reached 40 million U.S. dollars and are expected to benefit from cinema ticket sales in the domestic China when aired in July 2012.
